Railrway infrastructure

Railway infrastructure include railroad, stations, and railway safety systems.



Railroad

Railroad is constructed with rails, fasteners, sleepers, ballast (or slab track) and underlying subgrade. Some countries have different distance betwen rails. a

Normal is 1435mm, > are Broad gauge and < are Medium gauge

For example: Russian 1,520 mm (4 ft 11 5⁄6 in)

                 Indian 1,676 mm (5 ft 6 in)

                 Standard 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in)

                 Bosnian 760 mm (2 ft 5 15⁄16 in)

Train stations

...are places where we loading and unloading wagons with cargo or people. So we have passenger and freight stations. Every station have platforms and gauges. Platform is a section of pathway, alongside rail tracks at a railway station, metro station or tram stop, at which passengers may board or alight from trains or trams. Almost all stations used for rail transport have some form of platform, with larger stations having multiple platforms.
